Activity 6: Google Classroom

I have not had previous experience using Google Classroom, so this activity was very beneficial and informative. This Google device is a wonderful way to deliver messages, activities, and resources to students in an organized manner. Because it is completely compatible with Google Docs, it will be easy to use preexisting assessments and projects I have created.

One aspect I found very useful within this program was the ability to create assignments. The teacher can link videos, websites, and worksheets directly to the task at hand. It is awesome that teacher can assign worksheets where students each have their own editable copy to turn in through Google Classroom.

Less physical papers floating around will make my job easier as I can access student work from any electronic device, at home or school. This will help my productivity and organization. Google Classroom also gives the teacher many ways to give student assignment feedback

Through making a classroom for my math class, I have found that reading and writing may be the best subjects to use Google Classroom for. Students can go through the writing process using this tool. Teachers can also give students passages to read online or as a PDF and have an assignment of response questions. Math might be hard to create assignments for because it is difficult to show math work on the computer. A student could give their answer or an explanation, but may need to use a paper/pencil to complete the problem.

  1. I tried your math assignments last night. You had great resources for kids to read or watch independently before trying the problems. I agree that math can be more difficult since it might be tough to show work. It might work better with certain units or skills.

  3. Yes, so great to be able to have one place for you to communicate/send assignments to students! I like the idea of having a class for each of the different subjects you teach-especially Reading/Language Arts.
